Victims are often helped by their loved ones, spouses, children and family members, who suffer the consequences of the disease on a daily basis. The awareness of the origin of their pathology, i.e. the use of pesticides, often requires support to obtain recognition as an occupational disease.
This is how the Phyto-Victimes association was born. To mobilise together, to pursue those responsible and to commit to “putting an end to it", so that there are no more sick people.
In France, members of parliament are fighting for a ban on phyto products and a compensation fund for victims. But the recognition of certain pesticide-related diseases as occupational diseases remains complicated. The fight for environmental health has only just begun…
